The 2027 BMW 7 Series gasoline lineup offers two configurations built around the same 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo™ inline-six with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, delivering 375 horsepower. The BMW 740i channels that power to the rear wheels for the rear-biased driving character the BMW 7 Series has carried for nearly 50 years. The BMW 740i xDrive® pairs the same powertrain with intelligent all-wheel drive, distributing torque between axles for added confidence in varied conditions. Both of these new BMW sedans arrive with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Design Features
The 2027 BMW 7 Series wears a monolithic design language developed specifically for the BMW luxury class. The updated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille takes a slimmer, more vertical form, while optional BMW Individual crystal headlights house 12 crystal glass elements per light, creating a signature no other luxury sedan can replicate. A new character line traces the full length of the flanks, lending an almost boat-tail elegance from the rear three-quarter angle. At arrival and departure, the LED Light Carpet projects a dynamic pattern across the ground using more than 194,000 pixels in the door sills, selectable across three animation modes.
Interior Features
The cabin has been reimagined around BMW Panoramic iDrive® with BMW Operating System X, powering a floating central display alongside the newly debuted BMW Passenger Screen, which is now standard on every model. BMW Panoramic Vision stretches a full-width projection across the entire windshield. The available 31.3-inch BMW Theater Screen now supports Zoom video calls, and optional Dolby® Atmos playback through the available Bowers & Wilkins® Diamond Surround Sound System elevates the rear cabin to a world-class audio experience.
