Can I Lease to Own a BMW?

BMW lease

Starting a BMW lease is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to buying one outright, thanks to the lower monthly payments and ability to drive the newest BMW vehicles when they are released.

One of the most common questions that drivers have at BMW Wesley Chapel is whether BMW has a lease to own program. Our team of friendly BMW finance representatives are happy to answer that question and provide information about BMW lease to own options.

What is a Lease?

First off, we should start with some basics about BMW leases. If you want to get behind the wheel of a new BMW 3 Series or other model, you can either lease or buy it outright. A BMW lease can essentially be thought of as a long-term rental of a BMW car with the promise to return the vehicle when the lease is up.

Lease terms vary, but they typically last two to three years. The main advantages of leasing are the lower monthly payments and the flexibility of what you can do at the end of a lease’s term.

Lease to Own

When your lease term comes to an end, you have a few different options:

  • Return the leased vehicle and lease a new vehicle
  • Return the leased vehicle and walk away
  • Purchase the leased BMW car outright. (Lease to own)

If you like the feeling of being behind the wheel of your vehicle and cannot bear the thought of getting rid of it, lease to own is the option for you. At the end of your lease, you can apply for financing and purchase the vehicle once the lease agreement is up.
