The summer season offers ideal weather for road trips, family outings to the beach, and unfortunately, car trouble. The excessive heat and humidity that occur during the Florida summer can wreak havoc on certain systems of your BMW car, requiring BMW service.

In order to get ahead of the curve and reduce the likelihood of issues occurring when you least want them to, our mechanics recommend getting preventative summer service. These are some tasks we’ll complete.

Air Conditioner Test

There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a hot car in a Florida summer without functional air conditioning. If you’re getting hot air when you turn on the a/c, a simple fix could be a Freon charge. If that doesn’t do the trick, our mechanics will be able to diagnose the issue.

Check Tire Air Pressure

Before taking a long road trip this summer, make sure that your car’s tires are properly inflated. Most passenger BMW cars have a recommended tire pressure between 30 and 35 PSI. Driving on underinflated tires can cause issues such as poor fuel economy and reduced performance.

Fluid Top-Off

Seasonal shifts in weather can often lead to low engine fluids, as they can thin or evaporate in warm temperatures. When summer hits, you’ll want our mechanics to check:

  • Transmission fluid
  • Power steering fluid
  • Coolant
  • Windshield wiper fluid

Oil Change

Ensuring that your car has fresh oil is important no matter the time of year. A good rule of thumb is to change your oil every 5,000 miles or follow the guidelines from BMW.

Cooling System

Hot summer temperatures can cause your engine to overheat if the cooling system is not up to speed. Our mechanics will ensure that your cooling system is in good shape.
